Roger Hammer, Calopogon pallidus1:30pm - 2019 Spring Wildflower Walk 

Once again, the dynamic duo of Florida wildflowers, Roger Hammer and Craig Huegel will be co-leading a wildflower walk at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve, April 27th, 2019. Roger and Craig will combine their personal passion and extensive knowledge of Florida's flora, along with their well known wit and humor, to educate and entertain. Participants may also sign up for a free 45 minute buggy ride in the prairie.

Each walk (AM and PM) is limited to 20 participants. Please bring your own lunchwater, a hat, sun screen and bug repellant. 

PLEASE NOTE: Your place will not be reserved without payment. Be sure your transaction is completed through Paypal when you sign up. (The last confirmation button must be clicked.) Once paid, you will get confirmation emails from PayPal and from the Friends of Kissimmee Prairie Preserve. Registration is limited and first come / first serve — this event usually sells out. 

Kissimmee Prairie Preserve is at 33104 NW 192nd Avenue, Okeechobee, FL (Map). Cost is $24 for Friends of Kissimmee Prairie Preserve members and $34 for non-members. (Become a Friends member by clicking here.) A $4 per vehicle entry fee is also required and must be paid at the gate when you enter the park.

8:30 am - 9:30 am:   Check in for the first wildflower walk.
9:30 am -11:30 am:  1st walk, Limit: 20
11:30 am - 1:30 pm:  Lunch time, book signings, buggy tours
12:30 pm -1:30 pm:  Check in for the second walk
1:30 pm - 3:30 pm:   2nd plant walk, Limit: 20

Buggy tours will leave each hour from 10am - 4pm, 8 people per tour so please reserve your seat, first come, first serve.

Fitness Requirements: Ability to walk on uneven ground in the prairie and to step up to get in and out of the swamp buggy. You will be required to sign a waiver of liability before participating.

Cancellation/refund policy: Cancellations must be made by April 12, 2019 for a full refund.

This event is a fundraiser for the Friends of Kissimmee Prairie Preserve. Friends of Kissimmee Prairie Preserve, Inc. was formed in 2011 to work for the preservation, protection, interpretation and promotion of and in the best interest of Kissimmee Prairie Preserve. The Friends is a Florida not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation and relies on membership fees and private donations to pursue activities on behalf of the Preserve.
