Prairie Birding Adventure
with David Simpson
Special Tour
Limited to only 8 participants.
Take a 4-hour swamp buggy excursion into the Preserve, all the way to Gum Slough, where the last Carolina Parakeet nest was found with expert Florida naturalist and professional birder David Simpson. Learn about Florida's colorful native parakeets and the critically-endangered Florida Grasshopper Sparrow. You are likely to see Swallow-tailed Kite, Crested Caracara, Bachman's Sparrow, Northern Bobwhite, Eastern Meadowlark, and many other birds. (Burrowing Owl and even White-tailed Kite are possible!) David's incredible knowledge of birds and other wildlife you encounter, access to harder-to-reach areas of the Preserve, plus a great view from atop the buggy, add up to a unique, unforgettable experience!
